Every season is just like the mood of our Mother Nature, sometimes hot sometimes cold, and sometimes lukewarm. She brings different foods depending on her moods. Our body also responses according to the change in seasons and requires different food and nutrients. The seasonal fruits and vegetables have all the vitamins and nutrients that our body needs in that particular season.
So, it is wise to eat the fruits and vegetables when it’s their season because:
- The seasonal fruits are affordable and since they are more abundant, you can stock them up
- Since they are grown under appropriate weather conditions without any artificial influencer, they are super tasty and healthy
- The seasonal fruits have their own natural color and flavour
- When you buy seasonal fruits, you know that the nutrition level is high and fresh.
Now, have you ever thought what would happen if you buy them when it’s not their season? If you go to any supermarket, you will find the attractive food though it is not in season. You know how? Because they use one type of non-consumable gloss to keep them attractive and look fresh. That means, when you buy this food, you compromise on the nutrition level. You will never get the same nutrition from the seasonal food that is available in the other seasons.
Seasonal foods are more or less organic but in order to make them non-seasonal food, influencers and other chemicals are applied to them. So, when you are about to eat non-seasonal food, you should keep in mind that it is full of chemicals. Foods that are grown in the off-season, are sprayed with all sorts of chemicals in order to let them survive. As a result, they are sold at high price
